Apna Ghar — saving toward a goal

Apna Ghar (Urdu for our own home) is a focused savings goal you build toward together. It started as a "saving for a home" tool, but it works for any big shared goal — a car, a trip, a wedding, an emergency fund.

Setting up a goal

  1. Open Apna Ghar from the More tab.
  2. Create your goal: a name, a target amount, and optionally a photo (the house, the car, the destination — something to keep you both motivated).
  3. Save.

The contribution ledger

Every time either of you puts money aside, add a contribution. The ledger keeps a joint running history of who added what and when, and a progress bar shows how close you are to the target.

Because contributions are joint, you both see the goal grow in real time — a small, shared win each time the bar moves.

Reactions

Contributions can get reactions — a quick way to celebrate when your spouse adds to the pot. Saving together should feel good, not like a chore.

Currency

Like Hisaab and Assets, Apna Ghar uses your couple's currency setting. Set it once in Settings.

Apna Ghar vs Hisaab

Hisaab tracks the month's flow of money. Apna Ghar is the opposite end — a single long-running goal you're slowly filling. Many couples run both: budget the month in Hisaab, and skim savings into Apna Ghar.
